Goat milk is less inflammatory, gentler on little tummies and easier to digest than cow milk - thanks to its smaller fat globules, lower lactose levels and the fact it only contains the A2 protein. Just as importantly, goat milk is high in naturally occurring oligosaccharides which are carbohydrates that feed the good bacteria in the gut. Finally, goat milk also has better bioavailability of key nutrients including iron, calcium and magnesium.

Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil that comes from the fruit of oil palm trees. While this might sound positively tropical, palm oil is, in fact, high in saturated fat, which has long been linked to heart disease. More concerningly, palm oil is largely extracted from the palm kernel using chemical solvents like hexane - which is a form of petroleum.

Palm oil blocks the absorption of calcium, fat and DHA in babies and children - all essential building blocks for strong growth and development. Just as importantly, it’s not good for our environment. Palm oil has been and continues to be a major cause of deforestation, destroying the habitat of endangered species like the Orangutan, and contributing to climate change.

Certification: We are proud to be the first formula in the world to be certified 100% Palm Oil Free by the internationally recognised Palm Oil Free Certification Trademark (POFCAP). Because it’s better for baby and better for the environment.

When making formulas, manufacturers can decide to use high quality oils like coconut oil and flaxseed oil or more mass-produced and cheaper oils including canola and palm oil.

At LittleOak, we use cold-pressed coconut and flaxseed oils to deliver the majority of the fatty acids in our formulas. In addition, we must utilise sunflower oil because it delivers essential oleic and linoleic fatty acids.

Goat milk is naturally high in prebiotic oligosaccharides, which are naturally-occurring carbohydrates that feed the good bacteria in the gut.

Our DHA and ARA are responsibly sourced from the highest quality clay extracted algae. ⁠

DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that supports brain function and development and plays a key role in cell signaling, lipid metabolism, cell membrane function and eye development.

Lactose is a milk sugar, providing energy to support growth. Goat milk has lower levels of lactose than cow milk making it more gentle on little tummies.
